Submission Fighting
Submission Fighting or submission wrestling "is a general term describing the aspect of martial arts and combat sports that focus on clinch and ground fighting with the aim of obtaining a submission using submission holds. Submission fighting is sometimes also considered a separate sport, with many grappling arts integrated into single system, and can include techniques from a wide range of arts.
Submission fighting is very common in association with Catch wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Shootfighting, Shooto and others. Submission Fighting is proven to be effective in any form of hand to hand combat, be it on the street, on a mat, or in the MMA No Holds Barred Cage.
Participants do not wear a gi ( judo / jiu-jitsu / karate suit ) and techniques do not require the gripping of opponents' clothing. The emphasis is placed on take downs, with a transition to ground fighting in order to obtain a submission ( tapout ) from the opponent, rather than scoring through a points based system
